Board Break-A-Thon
We want to take this opportunity to thank Jeramy Black’s Tae Kwon Do Academy of Bowling Green and all our wonderful sponsors for making the 4th Annual Board Break-A-thon on Saturday, September 29, 2007 a complete success – and for raising over $12,000 to benefit the mission and services of the Center! In fact, the Board Break-A-Thon has raised over $40,000 in sponsorships and contributions in support of the Center’s mission and services over the past four years – and we could not be more grateful for the help.
So what exactly is the Board Break-A-Thon?
The Board Break-A-Thon is a fun and child empowering martial arts event that promotes community awareness and helps raise funds to benefit the Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center. Hundreds of talented students of the Jeramy Black’s Tae Kwon Do Academy of Bowling Green (http://www.jbtkd.com) teamed up with Ikon Construction (http://www.ikonconst.com/) and MidSouth Lumber & Supply (http://www.midsouthlumber.com/) between the fall 2004 and 2007 to break boards and advocate for the protection and safety of kids living in our regional community.
Jeramy Black’s Tae Kwon Do Academy of Bowling Green focus their community efforts on child safety and well-being, which is why they understand children who are confident mentally and physically are less likely to be selected as victims. This event also gave the Center the opportunity to promote our community partners (Click here to learn more about our Community Partners) and the incredible work they do every day to help stop abuse, find safe homes for children and hold offenders accountable for their crimes against children. All proceeds from this event benefit the Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center.
We are forever grateful for their support and powerful message to help keep children safe and free from sexual abuse in the Barren River Area.
